Tomorrowland, one of the biggest festivals in the world, is known for its impressive stages, the numerous great artists who come to play and the enthusiastic crowd that comes from all over the world especially to experience this festival. But there is another reason why this festival is so popular and that is that there is something delicious for every fan. From the famous Flemish fries to tasty Indian Curry. From fresh French oysters to the tastiest hamburgers. And yes….you can even eat sushi there!
I, of course, took the test and in between dancing I ordered a roll of sushi.
What kind of sushi is served at Tomorrowland?
In the special “Mesa area,” I found a food truck which had a few rolls of sushi on the menu. Not standard sushi, but deep-fried rolls. The ‘Crushi California’ and the ‘Crushi Salmon Supreme’.
The name says it all; the ‘Crushi California’ is a variation of the well-known ‘California Roll’. Loved by many for its delicious flavor combination of surimi, avocado, cucumber and Tobiko eggs. This Crushi variant had no Tobiko eggs but was completely deep-fried.
So what did I think of this sushi?
The same was true of the “Crushi Salmon Supreme. With salmon as the main ingredient. This roll was also deep-fried first and then served with some spicy mayo and umagi sauce.
What did I think of it? The roll tasted fine for ‘festival’ sushi. Unfortunately, the rice was fried with it a bit too much, which reduced the flavor texture. But nonetheless, a great snack to nibble away at a festival. Especially since next to the sushi was a fantastic wine bar with really good wines!
As far as I’m concerned, a positive recommendation at such a big festival. It’s something different from the standard hamburgers and fries. So the Tomorrowland festival scores good points in this area as well!
